How Chicago Epoxy Floor Pros Works

Chicago Epoxy Floor Pros coats concrete with resin systems: attached and alley garages, bungalow and two-flat basements, workshops, back-of-house kitchens, storage rooms and light commercial floors across Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Our lineup covers epoxy, polyaspartic, vinyl chip and metallic, and the choice between them waits until we have inspected and tested your slab in person.

Around here, a floor spends months under salt brine and slush, then sits through a humid summer when cool concrete can sweat. Much of the concrete we walk on was poured generations back and has been painted, patched or sealed along the way. Salt, moisture and age shape most of our recommendations, so those are the first things we check.

What a visit looks like

  • On arrival we size up the space and take a moisture reading on the concrete.
  • We check for old paint or sealer, oil, cracks, spalled patches by the door, low areas and any hint of past water entry.
  • We ask what the room is for: daily parking, a workshop, laundry, storage, a home gym or a commercial line.
  • The quote you get in writing names the coating system, lists every layer and the prep steps, and gives one total price.

How the work goes

  • Diamond grinding opens up the slab, giving the coating clean, porous concrete to grip rather than a sealed or dusty face.
  • Cracks, pits and broken joints get filled and ground level before the first base coat.
  • On install day we take readings of air warmth, slab warmth and dew point, since resin spread on a cold or damp slab may not bond.
  • Topcoats are picked for what the floor will face: road salt, hot tires, chemicals, sun through the door or constant foot traffic.
  • Before leaving, we explain when foot traffic is fine again, how long before a car can park on it, and how to clean it through winter.

Lines we hold

If a slab fails a moisture test, you will hear about it before anything is coated, and we will not drop grinding to finish a day sooner. When drainage work or concrete repair has to come before a coating makes sense, we tell you, and that work stays out of our price until it is done.
